AUDITIONS FOR THE 2010-2011 PERFORMANCE SEASON

The Charleston Dance Project is looking for talented, passionate and experienced jazz and contemporary dancers 18 years old or older for the 2010-2011 performance season. Auditions will be held Sunday, September 12th at 12:00pm (11:30am registration, 12pm audition) at Dancefx Charleston located at 334 East Bay Street in the Ansonborough Shopping Center next to the East Bay Deli and Blockbuster.
The Audition will consist of various technical and stylized skills across the floor, a contemporary combination to perform in small groups, solo performances showcasing each dancer's abilities and a short interview with the panel of judges.

Under the direction of artistic director Danielle Hosker and executive director Jenny Broe, the Charleston Dance Project is Charleston's contemporary jazz dance company. In its inaugural performance year, CDP performed at the Charleston Fashion Show at Hibernian Hall, was an audience favorite at the DanceATHENS Dance Concert in November 08 and earned high recognition from famed celebrity choreographers Wade Robson, Dave Scott, Brian Friedman and Cris Judd when the company performed at The PULSE On Tour in February 09 in Atlanta. CDP was also invited to perform at the annual Charleston Dance Showcase. CATALYST held at the Charleston Music Hall marked CDP's official debut. CDP's second perfromance season proved to be groundbreaking! The company was not only invited to guest perform in "Coiled at the Base of Our Spines" in Atlanta and in the DanceATHENS Dance Festival Concert 09 as a featured company, but was also asked to re-set Michael Jackson's THRILLER for the Premier of THIS IS IT at Cinebarre. The CDP's second full length concert TEN was a huge success (TEN celebrated ten years of talent, passion and dance for Dancefx, Inc.). With new and exciting works and collaborations in progress, the Charleston Dance Project is ready to take the Charleston and Athens community by storm.
